Carla Betker, M.Ed.

Carla Betker, M.Ed. has worked as a school psychologist in Manitoba schools for over 20 years. She has also worked as a therapist in a clinical treatment setting for adolescents, and as a private practice therapist for over 20 years. Through her private practice, a range of services are provided including counselling services for adults, adolescents and children; parent coaching for parents with children of all ages; as well as assessment and consultation services (assessment in school settings only).

Carla has extensive experience in:

Counselling (private practice and in school settings) with children, adolescents, and adults (regarding a range of issues including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, experiences of abuse; anger management and problem-solving; strengthening of self-esteem and self-confidence; mindfulness strategies; and changing negative, self-defeating patterns of thinking).

Parenting support and coaching via formal parenting courses, informational workshops, and individual counselling/coaching sessions with parents.

Assessment services (re cognitive functioning; behavioral or emotional issues; mental health; suicide risk assessment and threat assessment) – in school settings

Training via workshops, presentations, and inservice training to organizations; school staffs; counsellors; administrators and managers; community groups; and parent groups.
